"ROTIFERA XIII" was organised by the Department of Zoology, North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong during November 18 to 24, 2012. Being the first ever International Symposium on Rotifera to be held in India, the programme was staged in 'the land of the abode of clouds', in Meghalaya's own state capital, Shillong.

"ROTIFERA XIII" has provided an ideal platform for rotifer specialists from all over the world to interact, exchange views with the fellow researchers and experts, and discuss future research issues relevant to international priorities with an intension to foster national and international research collaborations and training programmes at this global meeting.

North-Eastern Hill University, popularly abbreviated for NEHU stands tall in the northern part of Shillong in its green, lush picturesque and homely atmosphere.

Educationally, it caters to students and scholars from almost all parts of the north-eastern region not to forget about students coming from other parts of the country and abroad. (More)

Although the University has had several oppotunities to host National and International Conferences, this is yet the first time for the Department of Zoology to organise this world-wide event.
